Dearest Kaiyun,

First and foremost, a Happy 18th Birthday to you!

My heart sank when I read Sharlene's post. It reminded me once again that we're all heading towards different directions in time to come. And that time, is tomorrow. And my God. It feels like just yesterday that I saw that empty seat beside you on the first day of school 2 years ago. It was a new class, a new environment for me. And yet I chose to sit beside you. Can you imagine what would've happened if I had chosen to sit elsewhere? We wouldn't be where we are now. You wouldn't have this awesome blog set-up and dedicated to you. ;-) Oh and trust me, I was a tad bit intimidated when I first sat beside you.

At first it felt like you were going to scrutinize my every move and if I were to utter or do something stupid you would rip my head off that instant. But nah, you were nothing of that sort. I got to know you, I learned to understand you, deal with you, and bond with you.

I hope that when I go to poly someone would welcome me to sit beside them with open arms just like you did. :) I don't say this much, but you mean a lot to me, a lot more than you can imagine.
